I cleaned the filter on my in-wall A/C, yet it still gives me crazy allergies...?

Any suggestions on what I can do further to prevent having itchy eyes and runny nose? (Yes, I need it on, it's very hot here so turning it off is not the answer I'm looking for).

Answers:
are you sure it's the A/C? it could be the type of carpet/plants/animals around the place. Just as you walk in through the door, so can pollen and any other allergens that may find themselves heading in your direction.

**Try asking a HOME DEPOT expert how you can get better ventilation throughout your home and a better way of how you can SEAL certain areas you might be missing so that pollen can't get in***

Go to your local Hardware store and buy an alergen free air filter. The good one's come with a cleaning solution. I recently put one in my own house it works great. You'll have to take it out and clean it once a month but they say you'll never have to buy a new one, just buy the cleaning solution when you run out.I've had mine for a month so far and already can tell a difference. No dust when I clean and my breathing is so much better. Not to mention my Wife Doesn't Snore at night anymore(Not sure if the filter has anything to do with it but at least she 's not snoring).
If you have removed all other sources of allergens from your home, you might try having the heating/ac ducts cleaned. You would be surprised how much dust and dirt can accumulate in there in just a few short years.
Try An Electronic or Electrostatic Room Air Cleaner
Example
try either upgrading from he regular glass filters to a HEPA grade filter and or use a deionizer rainbow air makes one that is used widely on a commercial basis
Get an ionic breeze w/it they should give u a car purifier that u plug in to lighter
