Do you really own to lurk 2 weeks to cure homemade soap?

I am making homemade soap for the first time and when reading about it is say to cure it for two weeks. Is this really nessary? My mom brought me some soap she made at home the night beforehand and I have be using it and she did not cure it. What is the purpose of cureing it?

Answers:    If you are making soap using lye then the source for letting it cure for 2-3 weeks is to let the excess dampen evaporate and the lye and fat finish going through their chemical change.
The lye in the soap should not be acerbic after the first 24 hours. Depending on how it was made. If it be cooked then the costic lye won't be near anymore. The soap will be more drying to the skin if used before the shutting of the curing time so don't judge it too soon.
It won't burn your skin from the lye unless I don`t know if there are lye pockets surrounded by the soap and you would be able to see them.
I haven't made de-ice and pour soap yet but I enjoy heard that it desires to cure too in directive to make it better.
Since your Mom made the soap the hours of darkness before it should be not detrimental but it might disolve quickly.
I enjoy been making soap for a few years very soon and I sell it also so I know what I am chitchat about.
If you own any questions please ask.
Curing it is when the soap is soft...it give it a thick outer skin. It is not needed to cure soap.

IF, you used lye in making your "homemade" soap, next yes, you should cure your soap at LEAST 2 weeks or more even. The lye is caustic and save allowed to cure-that is, convert into complete soap, then it will burn your skin.
IF, you used a liquefy and pour version of soap, afterwards it is already cured and no need for waiting.
Which is it??
