Pop up camper ceiling replcement?
its a panel of the wood in the ceiling that is rotten from a leak. I am wondering the best way to replace it?
Answers:
Removal of the old panel shouldnt be too much of a problem, do it very carefully and watch for wiring. I would use a very thin material 1/8 inch to 1/4 max. You can find 1/8 inch thickness through cabinet maker or paneling should be the right thickness. As far as attatchment, you are probably going to have to use a construction adhesive like liquid nails or contact cement. Dry fit everything and get it exactly how you want it before gluing anything.
If you dont want to tackle the project yourself, maybe try an automotive trim shop, they could probably do the job. A dealer of RV's could do the job too, but they would likely charge you a lot more.

If you want to replace just the patch that broke, you may want to consult the utility man. Otherwise you may also choose to replace the whole thing and that will make the ceiling look nicer.
