"One-Coat" tile paint. The word they're looking for is "Two"?

Is it worth the trouble of taking it back and complaining? Has anyone any experiences of making a fuss when DIY products don't do what it says on the tin?

Answers:
Wouldn't bother mate. They'll just state the disclaimer and you'll be left with nothing. You can go to an industrial finisher and they can supply paints that will go onto tiles and hold for a long time. This is done by adding an additive during production. Only problem is, it won't be too cheap.

More to the point, it looks awful. Much better no-coat tile paint!
No offense meant to you, but the very nature of TILE is that it's glass, and no paint on this planet will ever bond with it well enough to remain intact for very long. Besides that the idea of tile isn't to eventually be painted.

Addressing the Q however,,,Manufacturers claims are often ludicrous, though most do add disclaimers.

I can analogize it this way.

When we are born, for instance in the year 2006, there are studied stats that claim we might have a life span of 77 years? Certainly in our birth records there are no disclaimers, such as If we don't get hit by a moving bus, or contract any terminal diseases.

We experience life, and all its attachments, hopefully with some belief that not all things are as they are reported to be, or perceived to be. That said, it might take an experience,,,IE: Painting Tile, to know that what we thought we knew, is only what we now know, isn't what we thought or expected.

The problem with knowledge is,,, It often comes, AFTER we NEED it.

These are generalized statements on the tins. They could never fully cater for different walls, materials, environmental differences from one house to another.

Although you can buy an actual "Tile Paint" that may be more successful. Check it out.
