Need assistance near a toilet repair!?

We have a Kohler 1.6 gallon toilet. Forgive my language, but the toilet runs every 5 minutes or so and I think it is due to a overflow somewhere around the flap at the base of the reservoir. I unscrewed the tank from the toilet itself and replaced the the flap and the "pipe" that connects the container to the place where the dampen flows into the toilet. When I reconnected it, not only be it still leaking into the toilet, but presently there is a seepage where the screw went within. There is a triangular piece of rubber that plugs the screw holes and fits around the pipe that goes into the toilet. Do you reason that is the problem and where on earth the leak is coming from? If hose is coming through the holes where the screw go, does that plan I need to buy something else to comfort plug the hole? HELP!! Thanks

Answers:    I suggest using a tank-to-bowl kit that comes next to all the compulsory washer and gaskets. Make sure you use all the parts. As for the imaginative problem you may be loosing the water down the sewer drain (center tube).

To exam this use some food coloring and watch where on earth the water is leak. Simply fix this area next to the proper parts and you should be back surrounded by business.
You just want the guts or stuff for the back of the toilet. It will one and only cost $15 to repair. You need the float, flapper etc. It comes within a kit.
