Is there a way to restore/hide a stain on a kitchen worksurface so that it goes back to white?

Answers:
Bleach it overnight? Although that might take out the worktop too so be careful!

I once saw something called Oxy Seven - I think it's the same stuff as that Vanish Oxy Action, so that might work if the bleach failed, if not a tin of Dulux! :-)

bleach didn't work?
Bleach
Is the surface tile, plastic, marble? What Color? For Formica and tile and marble countertops, spraying bleach on it and letting it set a minute or two usually works great. Also try Clorox clean-up. It cleans up many many things and smells much better than straight bleach.
Try a gel bleach
Try CLR or another cleaner based on what caused the stain.
try using acetone or nail polish remover
flash with bleach will shift it no probs
Is it a stain or possibly a Burn, big difference, Formica burns easily.
that is a v.gud point....i dont have the answer but im looking forward to seeing some!
Try this stuff from walmart..it's called..wait let me check..THE WORKS. It's about $2 or 3 at walmart. OHMYGOSH, it's the best. I got very old stains that bleach would not take out of my bathroom...soo easy. Just spray it on and leave it for a few minutes, but not long enough to let it dry...then scrub off. GONE I even used this in an old toilet that would NOT scrub clean. Good stuff.
oxyclean powder form bought at most stores use as directed, I used it on my work service and my wife disappeared, great stuff.

No seriously mix it to a paste, got rid of tea stains on mine
Since the bleach didn't work, oxyclean is probably your best bet: I used it to clean a bunch of cushions that a sick pet used to lay on a lot, and you can't tell they were ever soiled.
Bleach always used to do that when I cleaned the bath with it (it did go after a while though)

I would try to steam it off.
try tipex
