How do you break bricks for a patio?

I don't have a diamond saw blade

Answers:
Use a chisel to score the brick on all four sides, where you want it to break.

Then, place the chisel into the groove that you made, and hit it with a hammer.

The scoring should help it to break in a controlled fashion, but be prepared to do it a couple of times, if you need the edges to be exact.

Grab a hammer and good luck
They make a hammer for masonry which looks somewhat like a miniature pick ax. Lowes has this for sale.
Take the brick in one hand, lightly tap where you want it broken so that you score the brick. Turn it over and do the same with the opposite side. Do the same with the sides until all of the brick is scored. Continue this with a little harder hits on each side until the brick breaks at the correct spot. Be ready to chaulk some of the bricks up to experience. Even the pro's can't break it perfect every time.
Good luck!
4 possible options

1. hire a brick saw,

2. borrow a brick saw,

3. Buy a small angle grinder and dimond blade they are cheep enough

4. Waste heeps of bricks tring to split them with a hammer and 4" cold chisle
Please remember to wear your protective eyewear when you do this. Avoiding a trip to the ER is worth taking a couple of extra seconds to put them on.
I would recommend renting a wet saw with a diamond blade for this job. It will make it a lot easier to get a clean cut and faster too.
