how to cut tempered glass?

trying to use an old veranda to make a new one - is there a way to cut tempered glass? Maybe the alcohol string water method?

As stated....it would shatter. I would suggest using a laminated glass instead of plexi or newer composites.Laminated is not only safe but adds insulating properties. Can you cut laminated by hand?....yes but is painstaking....one glass surface has to be cut..then the opposite side exactly.....heat the vinyl and cut with a razor knife.

Tempered glass cannot be cut...it will shatter. Tempered glass is precut, then annealed in a tempering oven. Don't even try it..you will have a very big mess on your hands.
