I make and sell beaded jewelry. For storage and display I got the sheets of foam poster board and covered it with felt simply by using duct tape. Then get those large floral pins that look like a "T" and put one on each end to travel, then remove the bottom one for your display of storage so you can quickly get one off to wear. Hope this helps. It works great for me.

If you like hanging them on the wall you could get a cork notice board - either one which doesn't need to hang on a wall or one that you can just lean against the wall on top of a desk or something.
The Container Store sells hanging jewelry organizers that are clear so that you can see each piece. There are pockets to put each piece of jewelry in, and the organizer is 2-sided. It has a hanger on top, so that you can hang it on the door, in the closet, etc. I have one and it's great! They sell two sizes (37 pocket & 80 pocket)
at walmart you can buy self sticking hooks that should work well
You can buy wall hooks at the hardware store that stick to the walls without nailing and can be removed just as easy without leaving a mark.
you can buy a belt rack. you hook it like a hanger in your closet.they come with like 12 hooks that could each fit like 8 necklaces.
