it really depends where you are installing the tile. If it's a heavy traffic area that will be exposed to alot of outdoor elements and/or grease, then epoxy would be the least maintenance. You would also use epoxy to grout tile countertops.
Otherwise, in a normal residential floor, regular grout with a sealer is fine as long as it's cleaned regularly.

polyurethane sealants are better yet and yes over the long run
it's worth the extra money.
be careful of sprays some of them can really hurt you if you don't wear a mask!
Epoxy grouts are slightly more expensive but if you are going through the expensive of having tile installed by a professional why would you try to pinch pennies on the materials? Tile floors last a long time (will likely outlive you) so invest wisely you'll be glad you did 10, 20, even 30 years from now.
