Has anybody heard of a product called Sand Band that is supposed to allow you to paint over an already-stained piece of furniture without stripping or sanding it first? I'd like to know how effective it is before I buy--if I can even find it! Are there any tricks to using it correctly?

Don't know where to find that particular brand, but all coatings requite that you clean, lifgtly samd, and reclean the surface first. The light saning is not to stripp it, just enough to roughen the surface so the new coating has something to hold on to.
