how do i tile a kitchen counter top and back splash?
Answers:
lay out the dead center of your work [diagonally and vertically] then measure tiles to see how many yu need and how many rows yu can get. always put the odd measurement to the back of work to appeal to eye.keep grout lines the same and straight wait for mastic grab and dry then grout with sponge trowel!also plan ahead and think it out if yu design something fancy!too late to go back when the mastic is dry!!

Honestly, You dont want too. I have tile on mine and hate it. Hate it, Hate it. They are hard to keep clean. You cant just wipe them off. Crumbs get caught on the edge so you can just wipe the crumbs off in your hands. The grout stains and gets yucky. If you do decide to tile, get a dust pan and small broom for the counters only. I use it to wipe them off before I use a wet rag. Good luck.

That's not really the kind of thing that can be explained with text, you really need diagrams and some hands on experience. However, I might suggest a granite slab for your countertop rather than tile. I know it's more expensive, but it's a whole lot less maintenance which makes it worth it in the long run. be creative with your backsplash though! there are so many things you can do it's amazing. i've been doing tile for 24 years. here are some photos of my work...
