i have a old boiler....?

i have a back boiler behind the gas fire in the dinning room. can i take the gas fire away and replace it with a electric one, without removing the back boiler.....

Answers:
No, if you did that you'd have to cut off your central heating too as it would be 'Immediatly Dangerous' and a threat to your life or property.

You need to talk to your Council Building Control if you plan to do this without professional help.

many apologises i thought it was a daft question about your wife when i saw the title.
If you no longer require the back boiler then yes you can leave it in, you will need a corgi registered plumber for the removal as it will need a gas test, also the back boiler will need disconnecting, capping off and draining,
you will get no hot water!! the boiler is connected to the fire. if you have other means of producing hot water, you could weigh the tank in at a scrap yard...
