How do you replace a chuck on a Sears 18 volt cordless drill?
Answers:
I don't think the chuck is replacable by itself, as it is an integral part of the motor shaft. If it is relatively new then Sears should replace it, otherwise, you will have to take it to a repair shop to get the chuck changed, which will probably cost more than a new drill would. If it can be replaced by itself, the chuck is merely pressed onto the tapered end of the shaft, and a chuck puller can be used to remove it, but the force exerted on the body may cause more damage than good. Good luck.
Other answers:
open the chuck all the way, then loosten the screw inside the tip of the chuck.

If it has a screw inside the chuck, remove it. It is a LEFT-hand thread so turn it CLOCKWISE. Put an allen wrench in the chuck and tighten it very tight. Give the wrench a sharp blow with a hammer in the counterclockwise direction. If your lucky, it will break away. Good luck.
