What is the cheapest and best means of access to transition from woodfloor to mat?

I am installing hardfloors in between rooms. Unfortunately I didn't steal into consideration the amount of transition molding I would need. Not to mention I didn't realize how expensive the moldings are.

What is the cheapest and best process to go from mat to hardfloor?

Also my carpet is greatly higher after the hardfloor now, how do I do the transition? I don't fathom out how the carpet will stay against the molding and not raise up.

Would appreciate some help.

Answers:    There are standard molding you can buy at the home expansion stores. They are tapered on one side and enjoy a groove on the other for the higher surface. The can be timber or extruded aluminum. It does not get cheaper than that.
Carpet public house is one method... you can buy it at most building supply or carpet stores.... gold ingots or silver tone usually. It comes in 12 ft length, and you can cut it with snips. Once the hearth rug is tucked in, simply tap it down near a block and hammer to grip the runner.

Another option is to simply fold the mat under itself and tack it down.

Since your hearth rug is already down, and you need to net the transition.. you may need to trim the runner pad wager on just a bit, to use any method.
