Help!! Got a toilet and the lid is glued to the tank.?
Answers:
Turn the whole thing over and pour acetone in the crack between the lid and the tank, let it sit and pour some more down in it. I am sure they used Liquid nail. this should loosen it up enough to get it off.
Other answers:
it would depend on what kind of glue they used. is it a soft glue like silicone that you can cut with a razor? if it's more like cement then break out the hammer and chisel. in the end you might have to buy a new top for the tank.

did they tell you about it before you purchased it? if they didn't tell you about it before then they falsely advertised it and you should return it.
i never thought i'd say that. return your toilet.
JASCO Paint Remover
Turn it upside down, there will be a trough around the lid to hold liquid, put acetone around this trough if that don't work try Laquer thinner, do not get either on anything else. Nail polish cleaner would work too, but its too expensive.
Take it back! You got exactly what you paid for. Never buy display model anything.
