Installing farmstead or apron sink?

Hello. I would like to install a homestead sink (30" by 18" and 10" deep) for my kitchen. I am wondering if I have to do anything special in relation to the drain and the disposer? TIA.

Answers:    "A sink is a sink is a sink ..." pretty much fits the bill in this casing. Your farmhouse sink should hook up newly like any other sink. For what it is worth, I similar to your choice. I have other hated double bowl kitchen sinks. Neither bowl is ever big ample to hand bath a large soup pot or a roasting container. I guess the whole concept was that one could riddle one side of the sink with scrap that would be sent down the garbage disposer and use the other for other kitchen tasks. I freshly never saw the practicality of the idea, but it sure sold a great deal of sinks!

As to your particular sink, is it a strange sink, or have you reclaimed an behind the times cast iron "farmstead sink"? If it is new, you shouldn't own any problem finding faucets to fit the predrilled holes. The predrilled holes for the faucets should be a standard pattern, but it never hurts to know the information when select faucets.

If you have reclaimed an weak cast iron sink, sort sure you measure the diameter of the holes provided for the faucets and the distance from center to center of adjectives of the holes. Take this information with you when you brand name your faucet selections. Just to be on the secure side, you should also measure the diameter of the sink drain only just in covering you have an weird sized drain hole. Armed with this information, you will know how to select the correct fixtures.

Unless you are fairly handy when it comes to this type of work, my proposal is to have a plumber install the sink. The price may come across high, but you are paying for expertise and convenience. The plumber will enjoy all of the tools and little things on his truck to achieve the job done contained by a short period of time. Unless you can deliberate of everything you need, you may capably find yourself making several trips back to the home center or hardware store for unusual person items like plumbers putty, teflon video, emery paper, solder, flux, a faucet wrench, etc.. You will also own the satisfaction of knowing that the plumber will usually do the work right the first time and will stand down the work.

Having said all of that, in attendance nothing unusual more or less installing a farmhouse type of sink.

Good luck near your new sink.
no purely hook it up.
