What's wrong with my ceiling fan?

I put this new fan/light in a couple years ago. The other night I was sitting in the room with the fan and light on and it just shut off, the fan and the light. I can't get either one to come on now. It's not a burned out bulb or fuse and it's not because the switch is off.

Answers:
Perhaps a wire has come loose in the fan. There is quite a lot of vibration inside them so that is possible. Take the fan loose and check the wiring. Also, sometimes they simply break and need to be replaced. They aren't hard to put up and don't cost that much.

You say fuse, you mean breaker? Did you go to the breaker box and locate the correct one and switch it off/on? Is the switch on the wall in the on position?
Turn off the electrical source to the fan before you do anything else!

There may be a short in the wiring or one of the wires may have come loose inside the fan housing or where the ceiling attaches to the ceiling.

If you can't locate the problem on your own you can call a licensed electrician (prepare to pay a lot for this) or replace the entire fan on your own (pretty easy to do & not too expensive).
If nothing else is off in your home, it is probably in your switch or fan connection. The way it would normally be checked is to see if there is power going to the switch. If there is power at the switch ,.the switch is turned on, and the other side of the terminal on the switch is checked to see if the switch is good. If the switch is working ,the canopy for the fan/light has to be dropped to see if it has power. If it doesn't ,and you have check to make sure all the breakers are on or the fuses are good , further investigation in the circuit is needed.
Maybe the electricity is turned off because you forgot to pay the bill.
Start with the Power Switch- then check the power coming to the FAN /Lt. if its hot, you need a new Fan, assuming there are no loose Wires.
For starters remove the bulb from it and stick your finger in the socket. If you don't get an electrical-shock from it, you don't have power to it.
