How is bamboo flooring made? Bamboo is round and the flooring is flat, how do they do that?

Answers:
Because the bamboo stock is hollow and the wall thickness is not enough span the height of the flooring, strips of bamboo are glued together to produce a plank.

The bottom 2/3 of the bamboo stock is separated into 1" strips, those strips are milled flat and square and glued together under pressure and heat to produce a billet.

The billet is then milled in the bamboo flooring planks.
