i am going to use some concrete patch on a crack on the patio?

besides getting dirt debris etc is there anything i have to do before using it,acid wash,how long does it take to cure out and do i have to keep it moist like new concrete?thanks

I have use the NuMetal also. That stuff is awesome! It will be set in 2 hours and completely cured in 24 hours.

Hmmm, it is a shame you don't say what the original patio is nor how big the crack is. Blast the crack with a pressure washer and consider using an concrete adhesive to bond the old concrete to the new. If the crack is small and has arisen from movement of subsoil consider using a lime mortar to patch it, this will be more flexible.

The main thing, other than cleaning it, is to be sure the existing concrete is damp. If not, it won't adhere well.
I'd use NuMetal epoxy putty. It's an easy-to-use, 2-part putty that repairs most everything including concrete. For best results, concrete should be clean. After mixing, apply the putty to the crack and smooth out with some water. Allow to cure. I think the concrete patch you're talking about will not be a permanent fix. NuMetal putty is the way to go.
