I want to build this zen platform bed. What materials and how would you build it?
Answers: I used to build bunk bed as a hobby basically for matching reason couldn't afford to buy and have 2 children that needed beds....but any agency...the slats are nothing more than1x3" you can buy at the home depot (sand and stain them) the other lumber looks approaching 2x6" get them at indistinguishable place. use 1x2" wood to run along the inside of the 2x6 rails to hold your slats they will of late sit in in attendance (make sure to get the dimensions of your box spring or mattress first) and don't use nail use screws

Cheap plans found on ebay for a wide mixture of styles.
These are the best plans I could find for what your looking for. This isn't exactly what you have surrounded by the pictures, but the materials are a lot cheaper. If you hold your heart set on having one that looks exactly similar to the pic's you attached. Go to a lumber store and price the lumber first. Lumber prices vary from nouns to area and surrounded by my area the cost of materials for the bed frame surrounded by your pic would be more than $100 easily.

The tools you'll involve are: circular saw, power drill, sander, tape determine (*the plans suggest you use the lumber store and have them cut adjectives your boards, but most lumber stores limit the number of cuts per purchase to 5 and one and only are only accurate to an 1/8 of an inch. 1/8 inch doesn't come across like plentifully, but when your building furniture even 1/16 inch makes a huge difference.)
A queen mattress is 60"x80" so you'll inevitability two 4'x8' sheets of particle board, four 1"x4" pine boards, three 1"x12" pine boards
(It's amazingly important that adjectives your boards are not warped and since you are probable to go to the Home Depot or another sizeable chain store be prepared to look through at smallest 10 to 15 boards to find one good one.)
