Help! Re-wiring an English plug to a french chain.?

I know it can be done and I'm having difficulty getting it to work as neither telecommunication on the french cord is coloured. Ive tried one in dull and one in live but it hasn't worked. How do I do it?


Answers:    What are you electric wiring on the cord? Advice safety might depend on that. Also as to what "not work" might stingy - a motor or microwave might not work completely while a lamp might be dim, etc. Are here only two wires contained by the cord as "neither" implies?

Wasn't within a 100 year war over this issue? I'm not sure in the region of that, but I am sure that people own died futtzing with electrical things while not knowing what they be doing.
