Does passing an NVQ2 Apprentiship make me an Electrician?
Could you give me some information please!
Answers:
I would employ you as an electrician if you had these qualifications, coupled with some experience you would have no problem. (The exams are not the easiest though)

No and no, and the editions now on the 17th edition.

You need the NVQ3 and register with an approved governing body
You'll need to pass your SVQ level III ( In Scotland ), and have your 16th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations Inspection & Testing ( BS7671 ) and also have passed you trade test, which was ( when I sat it ) called FICA or Final Integrated Competence Assessment. After that you'll be a sparky !!
if you look at franchises they seem to take you through courses in a very short time but competence is what you have to have if you had those qualifications and worked with a experienced electrician for some time and got some experience you could do OK if you can prove you are competent that is what matters remember it may be in a Court of law
To be an official technician (as in the eyes of the modern apprenticeship scheme) you'd need a level 3. I've looked into this.
