Craft/Scrapbooking desk relief?

But I muse this is a ridiculous amount of money. Really, it's 2 3x3 bookshelves with a table top. Any thinking on how to get this? IKEA does not enjoy the cube 3x3 shelves. Target's version is still $550+shipping. All the furniture I've found to be exact within the price band is white. My office is unlit wood. I'm willing to achieve more carpentry savvy, but I requirement a starting point.
Answers: I might would go to a hardware store and price out how much it would cost for the crude materials. Determine how long it would take you to create it and then resolve if it's worth it to make it your self after go from within.
If you get them white, you can other paint them a nice color that corresponds to other colors in the room.
