How do you figure " cubic yards" when measuring our an area for concrete?



Answers:
length x height x width (in feet)
divide by 27 to get cu. yards (27 cu ft. in 1 cu yard)

Depth x width x width (in inches) and then divide by . (a cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet in dimensions . (27 cubic feet or In inches this would be 36*36*36 or 46656)

Example, a 12 foot by 12 foot slab which is 6 inches thick (or deep) would be 2.6666 cubic yards.
