Want to make 2 new holes in room wall to refurbish & install 2 old leaded glass windows -any ideas/web sites?
We are particularly looking for a way to take these leaded glass windows, which are probably 80+ years old but in great shape, and somehow use them to create the old-fashioned design one would see in a mid-century bungalow - windows flanking either side of the fireplace and swinging open into the room from the side. Does anybody have any ideas or any website that might help us accomplish all of this? Thanks!
Answers:
This is a very detailed process, especially if the wall is load bearing.
Most home improvement stores have books on framing and remodeling. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU COMPLY WITH LOCAL CODES.
I am a contractor and have seen these home owner projects go bad quickly. If you take your time and study up on it first, you should have no problem.
Good Luck!

Cut out rgh openings.Add headers and jack supports. Rerock
or plaster. Trim with matching trim. Header size will be determined by if the wall is bearing or non-bearing. Weather seal
and before cutting check for electrical wire in wall. Check home
and garden site or design sites.
