laying concrete blocks?
Answers:
It depends what kind... If you are asking about CMU blocks then first you have to make sure you have an appropriate foundation. If you making an addition to a house I will recomend using a profesional. You can pour foundation yourself, it's easy if you leave in a region with stable soil (clay is hardest). Just dig a hall 2 CMU units deep. Put 2" of gravel on top of 2" of sand. Make sure it's leveled. Pour concrete mixs on top. For a wall you want to make sure that you are laying CMU units strait. String a string from one corner/wall end to the other and level it. It will serve you as a height level and should be used to align faces as well. Once you done with one level move the string up and continue... Good luck.

well if you are making a patio, remove the sod, level out the area, lay rocks on entire area, start putting in bricks and cement them all together......................... if you are making a wall just cement them together with a putty knife and cement
Very easy. Just lay down as you like.
GET THE FIRST COURSE LEVEL! This is vital. You can never make up for it in the following courses. Have a helper to mix your mud. Stage all your block within easy reach as you move down the course (helper does this). Read all you can before starting and keep it wet as it dries. Also, consider laying it dry and using a reinforced mortar on the sides instead of the traditional method. It is stronger and more resistant to lateral forces.
