Attention general contractors: how much would it cost to tear down a wall?

How much would it cost to tear down a wall which was put up in a garage to partition a portion into a little office? It's a one-car garage, approximate size of wall is 11 lineal feet by 8 foot high. It was done by a builder so is most likely to code. It has a door as well to permit access to the entire garage. I'm just looking for a cost range to raze it and remove the debris.

I read the other answers, and agree in part.

I am a contractor, and removal is often easier than construction. If there is no load bearing on the wall, and electrical issues aren't critical, I suspect I'd charge @ $40 per hour,,, approximately $200, plus some disposal fee I might have to pay at a dump site.

You should do it yourself with a sledgehammer and it won't cost anything.

Use a chain saw and burn it yourself. I gutted my basement that way when I rebuilt it.
My guess is that it will cost you between $400 and $750 to have someone demolish the office. This should be a fairly simple thing to do yourself. Be sure to cut off the electric at your circuit breaker before you start.
You should be able to find a college kid or a young guy in your neighborhood to do this for you. Buy a sledge hammer at your local home center for about $30 and get a pick up to remove the debris. Pay them hourly.
For a good job with removal, about $250 to $300. It also, depends where you live too. But that's the norm rate.
Tearing down a wall is the easiest part of all. Start a hole by smacking it with a sledge hammer. Turn power off if you have electricity in the wall. Clean up in sections and the mess wont overwhelm you at the end of the job. m
If there is no electrical or plumbing in the wall it sounds like one day should suffice. With no patching of what remains and including disposal of the old wall it should be $300 to $400.
