what is the best way to paint pressure treated wood?

Answers:
You should prime the wood first using KILZ. This will prevent the color in the wood from leaching out and discoloring your paint.

There is KILZ available for oil or latex based paint, depending upon your preference.

A brush, roller, or sprayer will work, but wait until it's completely dried. The pressure treatment puts a lot of moisture into the wood that comes out gradually over a long time. We just replaced the deck boards on our deck in July, and I will probably wait until spring to stain and seal it.

You need to wait 3 to 6 months until the oils and chemicals leave the surface of pressure treated wood before painting it. Paint it as you would any other wood. Either a sprayer, brush or roller.

Use standard painting methods; brush, roller, spray.
I wouldn't paint Presure treated wood ever. There is a sealer that will make it look nice and seal it so it will last longer.
