How should I insulate a brick wall from the inside...the wallboard is removed.?

Hey, I'm in the middle of doing this same thing right now. House was built in 1960 and they put no insulation in there!

While you have the wallboard out, it's important to upgrade the insulation, but you already know that.

I'll assume you are looking at studs from floor to ceiling and the backer board for the brick facade.

You want Owens Corning Pink fiberglas insulation. You will need to measure how my feet of insulation you need...linear feet plus how wide and thick.

You just unroll the insulation, cut to length with a razor cutter and staple into place with a staple gun inside the studs. Also, you will need gloves and a dust mask, and you should wear a long sleeved shirt and pants. As soon as you are finished working, throw your clothes in the wash and take a shower....that fiberglas gets all over you and it irritates the heck ot of your skin, but it's not really dangerous, just don't breath it a lot.

They have a lot of information for the do-it-yourselfer on the website...you probably want R19 15" wide...
