OK to use lil' charcol grill as mini fire pit?
Answers: Of course you can. The grill was made for that description of temps. and as long as you keep it cleaned out and covered you can cook on it one dark and have a fire contained by it the next.
Of course you can. All the charcoal is is a fire. Flames from the wood should not catch any higher than they do when you flimsy the lighter fluid on the charcoal. The charcoal burns hotter that the wood would :) .
CAN YOU? Certainly. Will you be satisfied?
Do you intend to bury it? Cut the legs short? Cover it when not surrounded by use? Is it cast aluminum, or is it steel. Certainly as far as temps. are concerned near won't be much difference. Does the grill currently have grating that the coals sit on,,,sour the actual grille body? Is there tolerable ventilation for maintain a regular fire? Depending on where you settle on to place it, you might consider putting it on a base of pavers, or a piece of concrete sponsor board.
I wouldn't, first you lose the use of the grill and lets frontage the obvious every time it rain it will fill near water, because the holes within the bottom will fill next to debris. It will be stopgap and will corrode rapidly contained by the ground. As far as safe sure. Your better bad digging a hole an lining it beside rocks.
