does anuone know about crown molding installation?

i want to install crown molding in my dining room but cant quite get the angle right to match up for inside corner on crown molding any one got an easy to understand answer

Answers:
If your ceiling's inside corners are near the desired 90-degree angle, there's a suggested way to cut the inside corner of crown moldings. On two opposite side of the ceiling, fit each with a crown flush to the edges by just cutting the crown perpendicular to its length. Then, to fit the other crowns, measure the length required from the lower edge of the already fitted sides. Position the crown in a miter saw, the inverted way it would attached to the edge. Cut it at 45 degrees, where the top part is shorter than the bottom part. Do this on both edges. Get a coping saw, and cut the angled edge perpendicular to the crown, following the contour of the angled cut. This edge should fit the original crown already attached. Try it for minor adjustments. Any small gaps could be filled in.
Good luck.

Other answers:
You must cut the angle while the molding is sitting in the miter saw AT THE SAME angle it will be sitting on the cieling. you cannot cut it flat. With bottom of molding at backstop of miter saw guide, the molding will stand at a 45degree angle coming towards you at the top. Set saw to 45 degress which ever way is needed, and cut. YOu will have to do some filling with this method, but not much..no room is exactly 45 degrees.
OR..lay in two opposite walls with no mitering, wall to wall. Cope the other two moldings to meet at the right angle needed..this is the finish carpenter's method...tricky, but always perfect.

first it helps to know if your dinning room is a square room or not, If it is, the corner angles should be 45 degrees. If it's not a square room, the you can find the angle by using a quick square, or a protractor. Take a couple of scrap pieces and use them to (play around) until you get a perfect fit, then cut your crown molding to a perfect fit. Hope this helps. Please vote for this to be best answer. I need the points. Lol!
best bet is to go and get the "home depot- how to 1-2-3" book. they show a lot of good stuff in there.
Alot of times u wont get a good fit just setting it to a 45 deg.angle So what u should do is for starters Use a miter box saw and if u have some scraps of wood play around with the degree angle cut them hold them up in the corner and when u get the right degree match cut the wood u want to use for the crown molding. It doesnt take long at all with a electric miter.
