I want to build a 20 by 20 deck i am trying to find free plans?

Personally i would take a shot at drawing them out all by myself, decks are exremely easy to build. Once you get one or two good sketches of what you want the deck to look like call a carpender in the paper or phone book and tell them that you drew up your own blue prints for a deck and you just wanted to see if you can run them by a professional to make sure they are structured well. Most carpenders that i know will do it because at a glance seasoned carpenders can tell if that plan will work or not, and they can give you tips for the project. and you never know what kind of helpful foresight they can give you... i would so much rather pay a professional a few bucks for tips and what not then just completely making it a DYI... for the size deck your building you can go threw a thousand dollars worth of supplies, going to a professional for tips can be insurance that some of your wood wont end up in the trash, ya know, not only that but there are some out there that might let you pick their head for free :)

go to home depot or lowes..they will be happy to help you out,will help design for you and give you a printout of it so you can check it out ,you might want to make changes..or they would have pictures to look at to help you plan a deck
home depot, go to the "pro-desk" they can print out a copy of what you want it to look like. and the materials list too. and if you go so far as to buy it, they will deleiver all the supplies. but i sugest to go during the week, friday and saturdays are crazy there.
