What time of grease do you recommend for my partial Oak kitchen worktop?

I just have an oak worktop installed in my contemporary kitchen. The supplier of the worktop recommend Danish oil but I want to know if near is anything else you recommend?

I want something that is not unhygienic in the kitchen and something that will darken the wood other. Thanks.

Answers:    If this is a food preparation area, use a food title product such as vegetable or mineral oil. There are several foods that hold staining characteristics, such as coffee, that you might use to darken the wood.
I used dark older english for my old dryed out wook floors conceivably that would work
