Are concealed cisterns safe?
Answers:
I'm a plumber
Nightclubs and restaurants etc. use concealed cisterns all the time.
there are simple ways to do this first fit a cistern with a internal overflow (this means if it does over flow it will flow into the pan and remove the need for a warning pipe) second you must consider maintenance you will need to get to it should the parts fail. remember this means that the ball valve should be able to be removed from your concealment, and depending on your type of toilet the syphon/ valve assembly. the type of toilet you fit makes the need for access more awkward in some cases ( close couple toilets being the obvious one).

You have to have an overflow warning pipe that has sufficient nuisance value and you have to have immediate access to the cistern or its control valve.
concealed cisterns are very safe as long as installed as per manufacturers spec i have 3 in my home no probs with any of them, as long as you can get access to an isolating tap perhaps in an adjacent cupboard you should have no problems, most of the ones on the market are integral overflowing hence if they overflow they overflow straight into the pan, like i say i have 3 my favourite was a grohe so simple to fit altought the macdee cisterns are as simplehope this helps
