Bottom of Swimming Pool Exploded!?
The pool place will not come good for the liner; the man says in his twenty years of working with pools that he has never seen a rip in a liner like this. He says a brick was deliberatly dropped on it. Doesn't want anything to do with our situation. We had a bad storm the night before and quite a bit of rain had fallen. But the pool was up and running for the season with no problems. So my question is. Could it have been a faulty liner, or could the storm have somehow loosened the base. What to do now. Can we repair the hole ourselves and make it a very shallow end.
No other pool place will help because we bought the pool elsewhere.
Answers:
Sounds like the rain erroded the support under the pool and that the support was inferior to begin with. Will your own homeowner's insurance help with this or go after the original pool installer for you?
Other answers:
Sounds like faulty packing! If the guy refuses to come out, hire an engineer to come out and write you a report.

What type pool is this?
this is something that falls under the category of homeowners insurance... they should cover any damages and costs of getting to the bottom of this problem (pardon the pun!)
