Can you make your own japanese beetle trap?
Answers:
I don't know how to make one but I have read that those traps are of doubtful use as they may draw more beetles to your yard than you already have.
I get a wide-mouth jar, like for pickles, put turpentine in it, and go from rose to rose, bending the blossom over the jar and knocking it so that the beetles fall into the turpentine. If you do this once or twice a day, then after a week there will be noticeably fewer beetles. Once they're dead I scoop them out with a spoon.
