How do you plant a mango seed?

get a plate place paper towel down then the seed cover with a piece of paper towel then water the plate. place the plate in a dark place. keep the plate moist it should begin to root then you plant it in the dirt.

You probably just stick it in the ground...although where I am anything grows. (Hawaii)
Well,,, I would let it dry for about 3 wks and then plant it flat in some soil about 1/2" down and water well, dont let it dry out, but dont let it float either.

You have to put three or four toothpicks in the seed, and submerge in water, the toothpicks keep a portion of the seed from the water.use a small drinking glass

I used to live in India and we just through the mango seed with shell in the backyard or anywhere outside in the open area and when the weather conditions are suitable the mango seed will turn into a plant.
first you have to be in a place where the climate is tropical.otherwise it won't work. Get a small plastic bag of soil and put the seed in the middle. make sure the soil is damp at all times and place the bag under shed i.e. no direct sunlight. You will see the the changes in a month or two. when the plant is about 1 foot tall, remove the plastic bag and plant it on the ground. don't forget to water it every 2 days. also use organic fertilizer. good luck
every answer here is B.S. except for Katts,, just place the seed on top of a pot of soil and keep it at room temp or above,, the roots will grow under the seed and then up, wait until they are growing good then put them outside during the day for a couple of weeks.. if you live in cooler climates,, keep it in the pot and bring indoors during the winter months... my wife is filipino and loves mangoes so i planted her several here,, in louisiana...
