Presently, this dosen't have lock (just close to a door handle). I want to install a lock, but the problem is I don't know how to uninstall the current one. It dosen't have a external screw. Using screw driver, I just pulled the cup and I notice screws are inside the cup. There is noway to remove the cups too. Please proposal. Thanks.
Answers: Check the side of the knob itself. You should see a hole or small slot. Stick something in to push the underlying spring contained by and knob should pull stale. Not real jammy. This is probably a SCHLAGE manufactured knob. Replace with KWIKSET privacy knob. It's easier.
at hand should be a place at the base of the knob itself where on earth you can use a flat screwdrive to push on to remove the knob. then you can remove the cover and obtain to the screws. hope this help.
