You can cut it with a diamond edge blade with a water jet sprayer on an industrial tile cutter, but you won't get a nice edge. The fabricators have special machines to create the edges that are glued on to the cut edge to finish it. If your application doesn't require a finished edge, you can do it yourself, but know that the edge will be raw, not polished.

you need a wet saw. Be prepared for hours of sawing and if you mess up and break a piece off you will have wasted your time and money
need a water cooled circular saw in order to do that. regular circular saws will burn out due to the friction. as far as the granite goes nothing else will really cut through it except maybe a composite cutting wheel.

No you do not cut Granite by yourself... you will need a specialty blade that is coated with industrial diamond bits and a constant run of the water to cool down the blade to cut granite. It is also a very slow process with a filing effect so the granite does not chip!

As Mira said, don't attempt doing it yourself, specially if you want a finished edge. Drop it off at a granite suppliers store and they will cut it and polish it for you for less than what it cost for the tools and equipment to do it yourself. I have rough cut granite using a circular saw with a diamond blade on it. I cut about a 1/4' out with each pass while having a helper spray with a mist bottle. The cut I make in the field is always done by cutting from the unfinished side. The piece must be set on wood firring strips to prevent the piece from snapping with the final passes of the blade. Many pieces have cracked or the edges have chipped just because of the fact it wasn't the use of proper tools. A mistake is made with granite and it is a costly mistake.
Mac's the man. If you want a rough cut you can do it, but you are gambling, and it probably isn't worth the gamble. But I finished edge, don't even try.
