How to build a grill out of a 50 gallon drum?
Answers: Hinges, handle and grate.
Use a skill saw next to an abrasive blade to cut your lid. Be sure to wear eye protection and gloves.

Split the drum length wise, weld the legs on one partially, weld hinges to the partner so you can open and close the drum.
Drill a full-size hole in respectively end to tolerate air within the bottom. Cut a piece of metal to cover the hole and act as a damper. Drill a hole surrounded by the damper and just above the heavens hole in the back of the drum. Put a bolt through the damper and the end of the drum. Put a nut on the bolt. Leave loose adequate the damper can be moved to the side of the hole allowing you to adjust the amount of air going into the grill.
