i had this happen, many people have i'm guessing...... when it happened to me i called my local vet who is a friend of mine and he told me to cover the area with lime.......not the pellets, the powder....u can get it at lowes and others. 50 lbs. bag... it really works.....

take a water-hose to the area
waterhose and bleach.
bleach the area then use baking soda
Agricultural lime. Powder form. Sprinkle it liberally over the dirt. It's the reason they use on dead bodies.

Go to your local garden shop and get yourself a bag of lime. It comes in a paper bag like sand or birdseed. It's in powder form.
Depending on how large the opening is you can dump some on the ground outside the hole and use a shovel to push it underneath the porch. Lime is very effective at getting rid of that horrible foul odor and you won't have to deal with bleach fumes.

put a pan of vinegar under where the dog was and then spray the furnace vents with perfume or fabreeze. This is what I did when I had a cat die under my moble one time.

GET YOURSELF A SMALL BAG OFF LIME AND SPRINKLE IT ALL OVER THE AREA AND OUT FROM IT A LITTLE...KEEP THE OF THE LIME IN THE BASEMENT OR GARAGE SEALED UP FOR A LATER DATE...IT WILL WORK GOOD...BECAUSE IS WHAT THE HIGHWAY DEPT..USES WHEN THERE IS ROAD KILL THAT IS NEAR HOMES......
