Why cant I find a screwdriver when I need 1?
Then when I don't need the item, there are 3 of them in full veiw.

The accepted answer is that you and those arround you lack organizational skills. If screw drivers and other things have a place and are put in their place when not in someone's hand being used then everything could always be found.
I personally believe that you are far closer to the true nature of things when you said that things hide from us when we look for them..
My experience leads me to believe that there is another dimension where whatever we are looking for hides and laughs at us for as long as it takes us to get totally frustrated, and then pop right out in view if someone else comes by and wants to know why we are so upset or whatever will be the most embarrassing.
Alert all those who are tired of not being able to find what we want the answer is to
STOP WANTING
to find anything. Whatever is in plain view is what we use to do whatever we need or want to do. We gotta use pschology ON these perverted objects that torment our lives.

Get a proper tool box and replace everything exactly where yu found it when you are finished a job.
When i say toolbox, the one i have is six foot tall and ten foot long and four foot deep. Oh how i love it
The same problem I have!I put things in one place and when I look 4 them they r gone, but mostly it's because I have a brother(12) and a sister(8)!
You sure aren't alone just part of the human race. Yea, I have tool boxes and a place for everything but it leaps out of there or there are ghosts in the house. I keep picking up more everytime I go to Big Lots. I love that little store.

Well, I must have 60 screw drivers in my workshop! Every time I want a phillips, I cant find one, or the ones I have are "rounded out" or chewed, so I have to go buy another set!
I have them lined up on the peg board now, so that I can find them all, but, a brother in law that lives just down the road, borrows everything I own, it seems like, (the reason I switched to heavy tools, also I get to do some woodworking too:) but, now he cant just "borrow" a saw, because its a table saw LOL!!).
I also keep a few basic tools under my computer desk. One of those handy multi screwdriver with different tips, so I have anything I need in one screw driver... hmm a bunch of tools are in the cubby in my desk, like channel locks, rug cutter, "cold-heat", tack hammer (steel), needle nose pliers and a wood chisel....
These are just about all the "basic tools" that I need to do about any project around the house, that doesnt involve a major tear out...(oh, forgot those little screwdrivers for glasses :)).
