Where's the filter in my air conditioner?

Should be right in front if it is a window unit. Take the front cover off and either blow out or wash the filter and put back in. Once in awhile you need to remove the unit and have the coils blown out alos to keep it from freezing up. Good Luck

It is either in the furnace or in one of the air intake vents in your house. You can get reusable filters that you can clean, but most people just buy the disposable ones.
If you have a window unit, there is a removable panel on the front of the unit. The filter is usually under that.
Good question, now I have some questions
1. is your a/c a central system(is there an a/c on the outside of your house
2. if it's an apartment then: do you have an individual a/c or does the complex provide your a/c free?
3. some where on the inside of your house/apartment there will be a return grill (this is not a register(these are small-4 inches by 8 inches to 6 inches by 12 inches) this will, probably, be 1 1/2 feet by 2 1/2 feet or bigger. the filter should be behind that vent, or if there is an a/c(air conditioner) above the vent then it will be on the bottom of that a/c unit. it should be replaced not cleaned(if it is paper/if it is metal then it is to be washed9mild soap and water-rinse well). replacements may be purchased at walmart/home depot/lowes etc.
Look for the largest rectangular enclosure close to the area where the plumbing comes in from the outside unit. The filter will probably be enclosed in that general area. It can be accessed by either turning an access key or screws using an ordinary screwdriver. The opening can be either a large metal door which opens up the whole enclosure so that the filter can be easily lifted out or it can be a narrow area just a little bit wider than the filter itself.
