Answers: no--- applying grease base paint is not close to applying latex, you are probably not applying it right, air and objects temperature have to be warm, and near no moisture,--- with grease paint you have to keep hold of a wet perimeter, and paint from dry to wet nouns, start at the bottom, going in vertical strokes, dance all the agency across the door, move up bout 6 " and do the same, over lap each stroke to the one below , do this til you procure bout half style up, then using matching brush, with no paint on it, fashion long and light strokes evenly to the bottom of the door, when fine art with grease you cant go bad and leave it , when you start you hold to go adjectives the way up, beside out stopping, or the paint will build up where you stopped and restarted, departure a dull surface when it dries, best to mix some penetrol with the paint, this make it go on smoother , and beside less brush results and no dragging . if you bought a quart of paint pour half of it into another container and mix bout 3 or 4 table spoons of penetrol surrounded by it, stir it real well brought-up, and stir it bout every 15 minutes or so, you can tell when it s not going on similar to it did at the start, add more penetrol as needed, it take lot of skill and pratice to apply oil paint, you might want to try a piece piece of wood to start with. the more you paint next to oil the better you will catch, learning from your mistakes, as near all paints you other lightly sand between coats
