How do you measure for a storm door??

measure the opening. if there is one already there measure the glass size.
Other answers:
measure the frame where the door will sit. Side to Side top to bottom
measure the frame where the door will sit. Side to Side top to bottom
Just measure the opening. storm doors come in standard sizes 32 30 and 36 inch but can be adjusted to fit. good luck
to measure for a storm door, just measure the wooden/metal door u want to install the storm door over. open the door and measure the width. it will be a tad smaller than the door u ask for. example: if ur wooden/metal entrance door measures 35 3/4" wide it is a 3'0" and u want to buy a 3'0" storm door. if ur door measures 2'8" wide again u ask for a 2'8" storm door. most exterior doors in a house unless very old r 3'0" or 2'8".....
now u have to figure out which "hand" u want to ask for. on storm doors its done from the outside of the door where the handle would be. so if u r facing the storm door and which ever hand u use to reach for the handle that is the door "hand " that u want. ex: face door, ur face in the center of the door, reach with right hand to open door, its a right hand storm door!
