I have musty smell coming from air vents in home.I have new central air unit. What can I do to stop odor?

the old unit was ancient (40 yrs) and did the same thing.

Answers:
My hubby use to do HVAC and i asked him since your unit is new but i am assuming your duct work is the original he said you could have (his words) crap suck in your duct work. He said if you called a HVAC company in your area to come in that they would blow steam into your duct work to clean out the musty smell. He said he thought it was around 100.00 dollars. If your filter is clean then it must me coming from the old duct work.

Other answers:
have your air duct/vents cleaned and invest in a good filter

Wait it out for a while until the new air goes throughout the whole home. If the problem get worst go back to the installers and see if they could look around to see if their is something sitting in front of it or around it.
clean your "A" coil in the furnace section. the smell in most likely from the pan that collects the water before it goes out the drain and mold will grow in the pan. Be sure your drain hose is also clear of clogs
call someone to clean your air ducts.
