You can try getting both of them involved in a common interest. You can say something to your mom and dad individually like 'I planned for a movie, and I have two spare tickets. Friends have other plans, so cant ask them to join me. Can you guys help me out in using these tickets?'
If nothing works, and they are real big rivals of sorts, then I think there is no point in trying to make them like each other...because they simply are not going to like each other! In such a case, all that you can do is keep in touch with your mom and dad and love them as much as they love you.
Sometimes in life we are given let downs and even though it may not feel like they've made the best decision you have to accept things the way they are.
