Answers: The easiest way it to prevent bumps... donate your wall and furniture a space. If bumps are avoidable put some foam on the furniture so bump and scratch from it will be minimal. rubbers also works fine.
they own clear teflon sprays...they come in a spray can. that might backing, but i am not sure how glossy it might be. i would ask at the paint/wallpaper dept of your local home depot, lowes, etc.
Toad is correct, they also variety a Urethane.
