I am installing cedar shakes as exterior house siding, waht, if any, nailer could I use.?
Answers:
They make double hot-dip gavanized nails specifically for cedar shakes and cedar shingles. They are a lot thinner than a standard roofing nail to resist splitting, and come in lengths of 1 1/4"- 2 1/4". The extra-sharp points stick easily into shakes and shingles for quick and easy application. Nails should be long enough to penetrate sheathing at least 3/4". Use two nails only per shake or shingle 3/4" to 1" from edge and 1-1/2" to 2" above the butt line of the next course. Nails should be driven flush, but not so far that the nail head crushes the wood.

roofing nailer would do the job just play with the pressure to be sure they are not nailed too tight for expansion and contraction.
